Linda Hopson Linda Hopson, a local folk artist, uses the ancient organics of the gourd to help satisfy her creative passion. The earthly gourd provides a primitive canvas evoking the spirit of the desert southwest. Since Prehistoric times, gourds have been used by native people worldwide as containers, jewelry, ceremonial items, drums, and art objects. Going from seed to art, Linda grows her own gourds, refining and studying each fruit through a creative process to find its hidden inspiration. She crafts the hard shell Lagenaria free-handed with simple and often homemade tools and basic techniques. It is through her use of paints and dyes that Linda gives each gourd a unique color and pattern that cannot be duplicated, making them truly 'one-of-a-kind'Click here to see more of Linda Hopson's Work << Previous Artist Next Artist >>
